A fat frog is resting on rocks in front of the pong, sunlight glittering on it's back. It seems at ease as it rests in the pleasant weather, seemingly unaware that cats could be stalking it. Reeds grow along the edges of the rocks that it rests on, and the pond glimmers with the sunlight sparking it's surface.
requirements -- minimum of two rpers -- minimum of 5 posts per rper -- 2 prey will be given to whoever catches the frog, if it is caught.

Jaws slightly parted as he padded along the swampy ground, the mottled gray tom's tail twitched in longing. He could feel his mouth watering from the tantalizing scents of the prey over the WindClan border but he did his best to ignore it, knowing better than to get himself up to trouble today. He was meant to be hunting for his Clan, not making tensions worse for them. He paused mid-step, one paw held in the air, and turned his head toward the sound of a croak somewhere near the pond. The scent of water and reed had earlier masked what he now realised, tasting the air again, to be the scent of frog! He tried not to make any sudden moves in his excitement, slowly bringing his paw back down to the ground below.
He could feel himself starting to sink into the soft earth near the water and so Stormblaze padded ahead slightly, trying not to stay in one place for too long. It would only hinder him. He followed the croaking sounds and the smell to its source, amber eyes lighting up when he spotted his prey. It's not much, but anything helps. That was something his mentor had always told him when the determined apprentice had been disappointed with a meagre catch. Every little bit helps, every piece of prey is one less cat gone hungry. It hadn't made sense to him then with his mentality of 'bigger is better' but it certainly made sense now. He stayed at a distance and crouched low, watching the frog expectantly, waiting to ensure it was clueless to his presence before he would make his move.
[OOC: Hope I did this right! Sorry it's a bit short, it's been years since I played a cat xD]

Sleeping all day had become quite the bore. It was nearly noon, the sun rising high in the sky. Soot, being the late snoozer he was, rose out of his den and slipped out of camp, ghosting through the trees until reaching a break in the scenery. Yellow eyes glinted at the sight of the pond, boy moved forward on agile paws, slipping into the hunter's crouch and creeping towards the water, as not to startle any possible prey.
Sootstar failed to notice Stormblaze advancing on the frog that caught his eye, body slithering as he advanced an equal distance as the other to it. Claws curled in the mossy, sodden earth, the smell of woodchips and pine overwhelming any possible scents other than prey. Tail drifted behind him as he watched it's every movement, pupils dialating as its throat expanded. Whiskers twitched apprehensively as the wind direction changed a bit, it was only then that Soot noticed Storm's presence. Though he couldn't see the cat, he made a mental note to not crash into him if the two were to spring simultaneously. However, the leader was not about to abandon the prey, and instead continued to stalk, waiting to spring.

Stormblaze was so intent on his prey that he almost didn't notice the scent of his leader until the wind decided that it wanted to play its mind-games, blasting him with it and making him pause, amber eyes blinking in surprise. He thankfully didn't make any noise or sudden movements and so he figured that the frog was not aware of his existence, something that was of course imperative when it came to hunting. One of the first lessons his mention (now deceased, unfortunately) had taught him was that you should always stay downwind from your prey and that you should never make any sound or quick movements. If it jumps into the pond, I certainly won't be the cat to chase after it, he thought. Only RiverClan would do something that foolish. He had only a small amount of respect for the other Clans. He was a loyal ShadowClanner at heart and so he could occasionally get insulting toward them when it came to his train of thought.
Realising that they might both make a leap for the prey and crash into one another, Stormblaze dipped his head briefly in acknowledgement and took a slow step back, trying to indicate wordlessly that he would let Sootstar make the first move. He did not leave the area completely, however, keeping his sharp gaze trained on the frog in case it noticed it was being stalked (by two predators, no less!) and decided to flee. Sometimes hunting in pairs could be ideal because your hunting partner could block off the prey's escape. That was precisely what Stormblaze intended to do if that sneaky little frog tried to hop away. That remained to be seen, however, and so he stayed where he was for now. Watching. Waiting.

The change in wind direction had certainly not been ideal, but the masked leader could certainly make do. Eyes trained on the prey, the cat could not see the other nod, but as Storm took a few steps back, he scented the move. Tomcat moved his muscles, slipping around in an open, large half circle, the peak of the circle paralell to the stones the chubby frog was resting on. If it went according to plan, the frog would fail to see Sootstar, and instincitively run away from him rather than make a turn and hop into the water, and leave his partner the opportunity to attack from either the side or front, trapping it in the middle.
Making his move, the masked bandit sprung foreward, landing directly behind the frog and watching as it lept foreward. So far so good. Boy pursued the amphibian, allowing it to hop foreward on strong hind legs, in the direction he had intended. Perfect so far, but he refused to leave any room for failure.

Stormblaze stayed in the hunter's crouch and watched as Sootstar prowled in a circle around the frog, his own amber eyes flicking between predator and prey to watch for any change in the plan. He was as silent as he was attentive, whiskers quivering in anticipating but no other movements to be seen. The long-furred cat barely dared to breath, not wanting to alert the frog prematurely to his presence. To mess up in front of his leader would be more than a little embarrassing. He was a good hunter, though, a good warrior. He hoped that his confidence in his own abilities was therefore justified. Patience. Just a little longer. He was good at waiting, one of his finer qualities. Stormblaze had never been impatient, not even as a kit.
He was rewarded when, a moment later, Sootstar made his move. Stormblaze was more than ready when the frog leapt forward and the multicoloured tom prowled forth in a quick crouch, slinking around to cut off its escape. He leapt when he was close enough, and though the rocks it was sitting on made it too hard for him to actually capture the prey (without falling into the pond, that is, which he most certainly did not want to do) he was able to stop it from leaping into the pond and also managed to drive it back toward Sootstar.

Electric yellow eyes glinted as the warrior drove the frog back in his own direction, muscles bunching as he prepared to spring on the amphibious creature. The boy landed squarely on it's back, crushing it under his weight killing it with a quick bite to the neck. The deed done, boy sat, long tail curling around his paws.
Boy waited for his warrior to join him, tongue running idly over his paws before the prey would be offered to Stormblaze. Man of little words, he nudged it towards the other.
(kinda short, sorry ;; )
